Main GUI Application
The DiskSorter main GUI application provides the user with the ability to classify one or more disks or directories, analyze, categorize and/or filter file classification results, export file classification reports to the HTML, text or Excel CSV formats, copy, move or delete specific file classes, class groups or individual files and much more.
File Categories and Filters
DiskSorter is capable of categorizing and filtering file classification results by the file type, size, user name, extensions, etc. The bottom part of the main GUI application shows the available file categories and allows one to apply one or more file categories as file filters limiting the currently displayed results to the selected file categories.
Analyze File Classification Results Dialog
DiskSorter provides the user with the ability to analyze file classification results showing where files related to a specific file class or class group are located on the disk.
SQL Database Integration
The report database dialog, which is available in DiskSorter Ultimate, displays reports that were submitted to the database and allows one to search reports by the report title, host name, date or directories that were processed. In order to open a report, just click on the report item in the report database dialog.
File Classification Plugins Dialog
The file classification plugins dialog allows one to manage built-in file classification plugins and/or install custom file classification plugins designed according to the FlexTk XML file classification plugins specification.
Profile Dialog 'Directories' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Directories' tab allows one to select a file classification plugin and specify one or more disks or directories that should be classified. The specified disks or directories will be classified recursively including all subdirectories.
Profile Dialog 'Exclude' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Exclude' tab provides the ability to exclude one or more subdirectories from the file classification process.
Profile Dialog 'Rules' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Rules' tab allows one to limit the file classification process to specific types of files using one or more file matching rules.
Profile Dialog 'Options' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Options' tab provides the ability to set the default report title, the speed of the file classification process, the number of processing threads, the file scanning mode and the file filter used to scan files and directories.
Profile Dialog 'Advanced' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Advanced' tab allows one to physically reorganize files on the disk according to the selected file classification plugin and file organizing mode.
Organized File Hierarchy
When executed in the file organizing mode, DiskSorter creates a hierarchy of directories according to the selected file classification plugin and populates the directory hierarchy according to the selected file organizing mode.
